Book Blogger Hop (7) and Follow Friday (6)

Follow Friday is a really fun way to network your blog and meet some other really cool bloggers in the process! This weekly event is hosted at Parajunkee's View! The featured bloggers is Caitlin at The Cait Files!

Q: What is on your current playlist right now?

A: Right now I've been listening to a lot of Mumford and Sons! They're amazing and so unique. I also love Cage the Elephant, Death Cab for Cutie (new album coming soon), Florence and the Machine, Civil Twilight, Jukebox the Ghost and of course, I love Muse. I've got a bit of an indie rock theme going on. Their music is all so catchy and fun to listen to. I pretty much love them all because I can blast them in my car, roll the windows down and just enjoy what I'm listening to.

The Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love for the written word. This incredibly awesome weekly event is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books!

Q: If you find a book you love, do you hunt down other books by the same author?

A: I have done that in the past but then I have come to figure out that although I love the author, what I really fall in love with is either that one book or the series. I have been disappointed many times when a find another book or series by the same author. I have also found other books by the same author that I loved. It's just a gamble sometimes!

I agree it's a gamble, but if I really LOVE a book I can't help but give that author another chance, and see what else they've come up with.

Happy Reading!

Old follower just hopping through - I love Mumford and Sons! I fell in love with "Little Lion Man" and everything I've heard since has been amazing.

I hope you have a great weekend!

I've often thought the same thing when trying different things by an author I've enjoyed. I think a lot of times it's the characters/story that I fall in love with...and that doesn't always transfer to a completely different story!

Happy Friday! (Old follower stopping by to say "hi!")

Hi Crystal, new follower here!

I see you are currently reading Wither-- I hope you are enjoying it! I know there have been mixed reviews for it, I personally loved it :) And yes, I have to agree that it can be hit-or-miss with books by the same author...

Hope you are having a great weekend!

I have the same problem with reading the same author as you. I'll love a series or book, but then won't be able to get through anything else by the author!

Just hopping by! I've had that happen to me too with some authors. I don't always love everything of theirs. And fun music choices. I haven't heard of a few of those.
Happy weekend!

Thanks for hopping by my blog! It's not always the case that the author of a book you love has written other books you would enjoy, but sometimes it's enough for me to take the risk. If I see a book and I'm on the fence about whether or not to read it, and then I realize I've loved another book by that author, I'm more likely to read it.

Oh, I *love* Muse, not to mention Cage the Elephant and Death Cab for Cutie. And agreed, sometimes it is kind of disappointing when you love a book and the author's other books just don't measure up at all. But gems of books wouldn't be gems if all books were... gems. (Yeah, great lame metaphor there).

Anyway, love your blog and I'm a new follower. :)

You're right, it really is a gamble. For example, I loved the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts, but I'm not crazy about the rest of her books.

And yes, The Magnolia League is very good! I'm devouring it right now. Wither isn't grabbing me a whole lot, it's good, but I don't pick it up at home, just read it at work during my breaks. I'm still hoping to like it more, but who knows. I hope you're liking it though!

Also, returning the follow. Have a great weekend. :)

I also feel disappointed when I read the second book by an author and it isn't as good as the first one.

Oh, love Muse! And Florence and the Machine.
I often buy books based on the author, and, yes, it is a gample. But sometimes you find amazing books! :)
Have a great weekend!

If I fall in love with an author it is usually because of the writing. One exception is probably the Twilight series.

Pretty much all the artists you mentioned are on my playlist too, you have great taste in music ;) Have a wonderful weekend!
